After a retinal tear in my left eye in 2018 and then surgery on my macula in that same eye in 2023, I ended up in Dr. John Jarstad's extremely capable hands for cataract surgery in my left eye on 7/21/25. I highly recommend anyone thinking about cataract surgery to schedule with Dr. Jarstad. He's a very softspoken man but his work is nothing short of amazing! I do not recommend using Dr John's services. My Dad was scheduled for surgery 3 months ahead. A couple days before the surgery, I had to call to confirm time and place of the surgery only to find out that the surgery had been cancelled without notice. The staff was very matter-of-fact and threatened to hang up because I was upset. Since we live 2.5 hours away and made accommodations for a 2 week stay in Tampa.
