Special needs parents: consider other options. One of our worst experiences with a medical professional. We have taken all three of our children to his office and never had a problem (other than the insanely long wait) until this past visit. When we asked for clarification on why our son is seeing better without his glasses (20/60) than with his glasses (20/120) he acted indignant and blamed it on an astigmatism and that my son has Down syndrome so he is not reliable. I had a great experience here! The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made the whole visit comfortable from start to finish. The doctor was so kind, professional, and very experienced. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly to me. I felt like my son was in good hands. Highly recommend!

My 2 year old had a concerning eye test at his pediatricians office so we're referred to Dr. Hinrichsen. In the paperwork we signed it said to plan to be there 2 to 3 hours and that my child's eyes would be dilated (which is kinda necessary especially for a first visit, not sure why people are shocked about this) and I'm very glad they let me know beforehand so I knew what I could expect.
