I had catarat with Dr. Chu. My vision after surgery is awful, requiring a much stronger distance prescription as well as a separate prescription for reading and close up vision. The surgery experience was also awful, I felt like I was in an assembly line and rushed through the process. I'm not even sure I received the IV sedative I was supposed to get to calm me before the procedure. I was frantic and nervous during the entire surgery. I have been a patient of Dr. Chu's for over 20 years. He is an excellent ophthamologist who has treated me for many things over the years. He is also a very nice person who always takes time to explain everything.
Dr. Chu is very intelligent but has poor bedside manner and little patience for dealing with elderly patients.
