I met Dr Joffe April fools day 1993 complaining of headaches and nausea. Having passed all the standard neurological tests with flying colours he nonetheless insisted I get a CT scan. Thanks to his tenacity my brain tumour was diagnosed. 30 years later, I am alive and well, the day Dr Joffe saw me I had a week to live. Thank you sounds so inadequate
The best experienced and most caring dr I have ever met
I am a PwMS. Dr J has looked after me for 2o years. He diagnosed me early, put me on the right treatment and managed to slow down the progress of the condition - and has always found the right words to make me believe that all is good and will always be. He has empathy like no other for his patients. More than anything, it was the feeling - no, the knowledge! - that he cares that kept me going and enabled me to accept things the way they are. I have not met a better neurologist, physician, person anywhere, ever.
My mother in law went to see this doctor and was told she had essential tremor. After years of assuming this to be the case because Dr Joffe was supposedly one of the best, she has now been diagnosed with mid-late stage Parkinson’s Disease. It makes me sad to see how disabled she is now, and I wonder how different things would have been if this doctor has picked it up.
Being a 72 year old Vietnam war veteran I've got a few years under my belt, a good many hospital admissions and have been taken care of by quite a few medical practicioners. As we all should be aware, not all bakers and rocket scientists are created equal. Yes? It is my view that Dr Ron Joffe is much more than merely an outstanding credit to his profession.
