have been seeing him for about 5 yrs. not helpful when i went in for preg test, he said he dont deal with that, found out i had MS from another dr, as i , went to dr ryan due to numbing and pain and he sent me home with out checking for anything. worst dr ever!!!!!!!!!!! he is no longer practicing, which is a relief!!!!!!
When we became new patients 5 years ago, my husband told him he hadn't had a physical since high school football -about 30 years prior. Ryan did a brief basic examination in his office, told him he was healthy as a horse and he didn't believe in physicals. He has never even ordered blood work for him. When I first started going to Dr. Ryan, things were ok at best. Any time I went into his office whether it be for a chronic headache or a lack of menstruation, he would blame it on weight and tell me to lose it but offer no solutions. The final straw was when I went in to get my Pap smear, he came in the room told me that I only needed a pap once every 3 years and that he wasn't doing it. Not a doctor, he should be a Veterianarian. Old fart with a limp, does not care about health issues but is always ready to pull out the pad. Does not fill out scripts in the room you are in with him but says he'll be right back. "Dr. Ryan is just a cloan from Dr. Smolling from Ouellette". Just wants the OHIP visit money but doesn't want to work for it.
Dr. Ryan is not a great doctor. He will listen to simple problems and if you request something he will most likely prescribe it, but he does not take any initiative to seek out issues or solutions to your health problems. He apparently will refuse to accept any patient that is pregnant or planning pregnancy or any patient with chronic or complicated health issues. He is getting older and nearing retirement which probably has an effect on his rushed and sometimes lazy approach to office visits. He's not terrible, but overall ... read more
I would not recommend Dr. Ryan to any person with frequent, or serious ailments. Even as a healthy male, I have difficulties getting the correct diagnosis with the few minor problems I do have.....1)a nasal polyp obstructing 80% of air-flow was mis-diagnosed as infection, one x-ray and 3 courses of anti-biotics over 2 years before a different doctor diagnosed it....2)chronic bouts of diarhhea, "yup, it sounds aggravated in there, watch what you eat" was the answer. Love him, never had a problem. His receptionist was wonderful and very helpful.
He was my doctor in Dryden..... At first he was a caring and interested doctor.... After he knew I wintered in Florida and on occasion had to see a doctor there he was insulting.... accused me of getting double medicine from two doctors.... I would not recommend him for my friend's dogs.
