Writing this review for my wife. In 2020 early COVID days she woke me up early one morning laying on the floor screaming in pain from somewhere in her abdomen. No prior issues before this. We went to Ascension St. Teresa ER twice that day where they treated the pain with fentanyl and admitted her for 4 days with no resolution. This man saved my life by surgically fixing my strangled hiatal hernia. A 3 hour surgery and I saw him the very next day early morning.
My fiance had a surgery done by this man. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. He shouldn't have let my fiance leave the hospital. Due to letting him leave my fiance is fighting for his life.
Needed an urgent consult with a Dr that was experienced in gastric bypass surgery. I had that procedure in 2005. Had sudden unexplained severe pain episodes in summer 2019. Was able to get an appointment with Dr Howes in just a few days. He ordered imaging studies and then an exploratory procedure. Based on the information he gained, gave me HUGE relief when he said No Cancer (strong family history), as well as some easy recommendations to help me to prevent similar pain episodes in the future. Dr. Howes was my doctor in 2014 when I was airlifted from Garden City, Kansas ER at St. Catherine’s Hospital and admitted to Surgical ICU in Wichita, Kansas at St. Francis Via Christi Hospital as a bleeding GI patient, and later diagnosed as a perforated sigmoid colon. He operated on me on short notice. He did a fine job. Cannot give a rating less than excellent.
He was fine in examine room chat, but after surgery there was no follow up to explain what all he did and what to expect, plus we have many concerns still going on since the surgery. We give him two stars and a ?
