Inserted shunt tube which I specifically refused in office visit in favor of the classical trabeculectomy. Initial consent for procedure did not mention a shunt. Asked to sign a second consent immediately before surgery in dim room. Couldn't see the details of consent with my diminished vision and didn't see that he had added the shunt to the consent this time. Was extremely dissatisfied that a foreign body with its possible complications was placed in my eye against my wishes.
