Dr. Shy is so nice and caring. He really listens and helps!
He cured my headaches with his knowledge of the right RX.
I never even got to talk to Dr. Shy! The staff was rude from the minute I walked in the door (yes, with my mask on). I gave them my name, and she put a piece of paper on a clip board and said, "correct anything that is wrong - give me your insurance card and ID." Then the cross office talk about my insurance carrier that everybody in the building heard. I was TOLD to take a seat while they checked. 5 minutes later I heard the lady in the back of the office yell, "I'm not in their network." By that time I was walking up to ge... read more
Dr. Shy was highly recommended by a friend and I have thanked my friend many times for his referral. I have been extremely happy with Dr. Shy. The previous neurologist required quarterly visits and charged the insurance company for a full examination each time. Dr. Shy has seen me annually for the past 10 years and charges minimally as a follow up appointment. He has me on the safest, lowest available dose of medicine for my condition. I can highly recommend Dr. Shy as a reputable and professional neurologist.
First visit spent about 20 minutes with me. Ordered blood tests and suggested I also see a foot specialist. Second visit, not so good. Spent maybe 15 minutes and kept talking over me to the person I brought with. I did not appreciate that. Ordered more blood work and then just got up and left the room. Third visit totally turned me off. Wasn't even in with him 10 minutes. He has not found out what is wrong with me with the blood work he ordered and he made no further suggestions as to what to do next; except to suggest some ... read more
Very loud - people down the hall could hear him discuss my condition. He was upset that I had problems with medication that he prescribed - said "that has never happened before, but could be". Brushed me off & said I should see a specialist. No suggestion that I should come back (I have been seeing him for the past 3 years)
My dad went from living independently and working to not being able to retain information for more then 1-5 minutes. I became a caregiver overnight. During our appointment with Dr. Shy he talked over me, he did not ask me any questions( I have been the caretaker for 3 weeks), when I tried to explain what other doctors ( PCP, neuropsych, and psychiatrist) had told me he immediately became offended and talked over me loudly. I am shocked at how unprofessional and rude he was. No compassion!!
Dr. Shy was very professional in his initial diagnostics. However, it is unfortunate that the persons I had to deal with over the phone in trying to follow up with the doctor on my problem of hand numbness were totally futile as the operators on the phone refused to transfer me to the doctors office and were totally rude. This I do not need from a medical office so cancelled any further medical interaction with Dr. Shy's office and filed my complaint with the Phoenix Medical Board.
Listened to my concerns and resolved my RLS. I'm living well again.
