Downtown is Boise I think you get what you pay for at this place! I remember my wife receiving all kinds of compliments on these CRAZY glasses she bought from this place, evertime we went out people would walk up to her and just talk.... I told her those glasses are your own paparrizzi. Anyhow, they are well trained at what they do, I recently went in for an exam and the woman that helped me took her time and explained every detail to why i would even spend my hard earned cash.... Staff I have been going to Artisan Optics for many years now and I have never been disappointed. Every time I go to Artisan Optics I am greeted with an extremely warm and friendly staff making the environment a very pleasant one to be in. Every member of the Artisan Optics staff is very knowledgeable and they are able to answer every question that I have, there is not a weak link. No Good Extremly overpriced, pushy sales people, customer service is very non-responsive once they learn you are not interested in purchasing glasses. I was contacted no less than 4 times in 2 weeks in an effort to get me back in for an eye exam. I discovered that Lens Crafters is a much better value with a much larger selection of designer eye glasses like Chenel, Ann Klien, Dolce and Gabbana, Prada, polo, burberry, oakley ect... I am all for supporting local businesses, but not when the service is so poor.
Glasses and Contacts I have been a contact lens wearer for many years and could not figure out why they made my eyes feel so bad. I thought my doctor was making a mistake and found out that he was which is why I switched over to Artisan Optics. Dr. Johnson put me into the correct contact lenses and told me how to properly take care of them. This made all the difference in the world. Insurance This place is great with insurance! When I went in for my appointment they had all of my VSP information ready and waiting for me. I didn't realize I had such great insurance. I saved so much money. I only had to pay my part and VSP paid the rest. And I had my brand new glasses in about a week. So easy - check this place out.
Bad experience They try to be cool and sell over priced frames, but the ones I got are very uncomfortable. Even though they seemed fine when trying one, with actual lenses and some time in real world use, they are pretty bad. And the staff seem baffled that this could be. Apparently they don't take returns on the lenses and charge 20% restocking fee on frames. Lenscrafter provides as good of service and reasonable product and a 30 day return.
Finally, somebody who cares This place is like a flash back in time. The customer service and personal care is something you just don't find anymore. Dr. Johnson took time to listen to my complaints about the contacts I got from my old doctor. Then he changed my prescription and brand of contacts. I didn't realize my vision had been so fuzzy.
