I’ve known I’d be needing cataract surgery for several years so when my eye doctor confirmed that now was the time, she scheduled me to see Dr Singleton. It was obvious that all he wanted to do was upgrade me to the $2,000 out of pocket procedure. Once I said no, it was obvious that I was just a number to him.. He discussed virtually nothing with me. Dr. Singleton has performed over 42,000 cataract surgeries in his 24 year career and continues to continue his education, integrate advanced technology into his practice, and expand his services to surrounding coutnies in need. He is, in many people's opinions, the best cataract surgeon in Eastern North Carolina and perhaps even on the East Coast. I wouldn't let anyone else perform surgery on my eyes or those of my family or friends. He is the BEST- hands down!!
Be careful using this doctor. Last year, Dr. Singleton recommended cataract surgery for me and touted a new treatment that would supposedly give me clearer results than traditional cataract methods. I took the bait and paid $1500 extra dollars for this promise. I honestly think if I had gone ANYWHERE else I might have had successful surgery. Singleton himself gave me great results!! Horrendous recetionists!! He is a 5 star but for some reason his reception staff (minus one friendly young lady) were flat, no emotion, make you feel like an irritant at each encounter. They get a 1 star. Leading up to the surgery I was nervous and almost backed out due to the receptionisits poor customer service. Why leave one if its not positive they don't put it up here!
This was a complete scam to make money. I got an original lense removed wrongly and I saw 100 times better with my own one than with this ridiculously blurry one! Dr Singleton will not give you a minute to even say HI on the day of surgery. He will not double check your eye sight as I had been toldby my ophtamologist. He will rush you in and out and oftentimes will never see you again! He will also refuse to start with the surgery you asked for first. I appreciate all feedback, however, I am concerned to read the comments left here. I have not received any patient that has voiced or presented with the shared concerns. That said, I strongly encourage patients to attend all follow up appointments so that issues can be addressed or circumvented when possible. My door is always open, do not hesitate to reach out.
