I get excellent care from Dr. Wickens. I receive Eylea injections in my eyes about every 6 weeks. I have been receiving these for a number of years, way before moving to Las Vegas. I can tell you that not all doctors give you a numbing injection besides the numbing drops in conjunction with the Eylea injections. He does both injections in addition to the drops. Dr. Wickens is an excellent doctor. He's a no muss-no fuss kind of guy. No sugar-coating, gets right to the point. Knows what he's doing and does it well. I care about his extensive experience and ability. He's aces in my book.

Although he did the procedure thoroughly I’m giving less stars for a few different reasons. His nails tend to be longer and sharp and painfully dig into my skin with examination. He also answers questions with things like that is the way it may be and it may not go away. Zero explanation as to why or reasons. His bedside manner is not great. He likes to push down hard on the outer skin near the eyeball to the point it causes unnecessary pain. I have a VERY different experience with Dr. Wickens. I recently had a medical emergency- a partially detached retina. This must be dealt with IMMEDIATELY. As it happens, Dr. Wickens was the ONLY doctor my insurance covered who would take an emergency appointment. Because there are not enough docs in Vegas, they are all very scheduled- and the clinic Dr. Wickens works with is no exception.
