I was referred to Dr. Melnick by my ortho who had been unsuccessful w/ treating my severe lower back pain. Dr. Melnick not only significantly reduced my pain, but more importantly gave me my life back. I now see him for a disc issue in my neck & the pain has already subsided as a result of his rec. treatments. I found him to be very comfortable to talk with, patient in addressing my concerns, and thorough in explaining the procedures, even breaking down the medical terms into words I understood.

I had the most horrendous experience with this guy. Most rude and condescending doctor I've ever met. He also has his secretary go over test results with you, not himself. She is not a nurse and can not answer medical questions. When I had trouble reaching the secretary, she told me her phone is set to go directly to voicemail for all calls. Seriously? Definitely read all reviews before going to this guy. He is bad news.

I went to see doctor melnick after being hit by a car at work. His staff treated me like I was bothering them. Then he treated me like I was a druggy looking for a fix. Being a cop this really hurt and bothered me. I was in a full leg cast and on crutches at the time. I explained to him I was hoping for some PT maybe injections into my neck and back which later required a fusion to be performed. This is the last doctor I would ever recommend or use. Stay away. I have never seen a dr talk nasty

Dr. Melnick only schedules appointments 4 weeks out and then rushes through appointments-max 5 minutes. He does not seem interested in the patient as a person. Does not listen to what the patient is experiencing or seem to care. Provides minimal and, in my experience, ineffective, treatment. The office staff is friendly enough but very often forget to contact insurance companies, labs, or schedule outside procedures on the patient's behalf.

Dr Melnick received my disabled brother as a new patient today, 6/29/2017. My brother has chronic docs issues/ arthritis/ spinal stenosis of the left neck/ a minute tear in his right meniscus and all sorts of hip arthritis. His tolerance for discomfort is low in part to his lack of mental Comprehension. After our 1st consult I (his sister/guardian) was very very pleased with Dr. Melnicks kind approach. We look forward to a great program of treatment. Another excellent physician at Somers.
