Formal Complaint Regarding Disrespect and Poor Quality of Care – Dermatology Visit on November 12, 2025. If I could give negative stars I would. What I experience today with this physician and staff I wish on no one. The disrespect 😤 and lack of quality care is beyond me. Visited her office with a family member. She (the family member) has some skin conditions and suffers painful scars. During the visit Dr. Smith told her that the only way to get rid of the scars is to 'change your parents'! Apparently this was meant as a joke implying that the condition is based on her genetics and it is not easily manageable with medications. Dr. Smith is extremely knowledgeable and very personable. She took the time to explain everything in a way I could easily understand. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing care in her field.
Dr Smith was the most dismissive, unkind, unprofessional dermatologist I have seen yet. She couldn't be bothered to check the lab results (that I discovered she had access to shortly afterwards) before telling me I was fine and I simply was being "too rough" on my skin. Fortunately, I had been seen by another doctor previously who had the good sense to take a biopsy and send it to Stanford dermatology for a consult.
