My sister was taken to Mission Hospital when she got diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. The CHOC center and the employees at Mission Hospital not only took exceptional care of my sister but they also took care of myself and my parents. I felt like we were a part of the Mission Hospital family and I know from my friends that they feel the same thing when they walk through the doors into the hospital. It is a place that takes pride in their work and they are truly there to take care of their patients.
This clinic turned away a child with a broken arm, fully insured, a patient of theirs, during regular office hours. The child was in agony. These professionals who have been granted exclusive authority by the state to care for children with bone injuries have no concern for children.
My personal background: Administrator of a 1,000-bed hospital. It appears that this hospital has given the staff directions that they are to turn over patients as quick as possible. Get the patient OUT should be their written mission statement. On the other hand, maybe their mission statement is; "Wait in E.R. for 6 to 10 hours and see if the patient goes home out of frustration or dies while they are waiting for care. The parking at this place takes forever it is so bad and then they have the nerve to charge you $4.00 for taking an hour of your life to find parking and shuttle to your doctors appointment. None of the doctors validate - I won't go near this place. It's just wrong.
