Over 2 year span, had a total knee replacement and a hip replacement. End to end care from Dr Macdonald, staff (from reception to surgery prep through rehabilitation) and especially his PA was excellent. Very good explanations of post-surgery recovery process and eventual mobility expectations. One to three years later, mobility is far better than I feared with few side effects.

Dr. MacDonald was my doctor when he first started practicing in Annapolis. He did a hip replacement and a knee replacement for me. He is an excellent doctor and a very caring doctor. I have since moved to Florida and have never found another Dr. MacDonald. He’s definitely the best.
my operation went very well. I couldn't walk with out a lot of pain. after surgery and a period of time. I was walking with no pain. I would recommend dr mc Donald to any one
He did a great job with the knee replacement and has wonderful support staff.
Really disappointed with him after hearing others who had a positive experience. I waited almost 2 hours with no explanation from the front desk. Doc never looked at my MRI of my knee which was ordered by his partner who said I needed a total knee replacement and then turned me over to Mac Donald. He never visually looked at my knee or touched it. He said I wasn’t in enough pain, come back in a month. I had no meniscus ! Just to cocky and flippant for me.
Excellent surgeon with good bedside manner. Hard to get both at the same time sometimes. It is sometimes difficult to get an office response when calling and wish they would use the patient portal for non-urgent questions. It would be much more efficient.
Front office went smoothly. My first appointment for a knee injury after an ER visit. I had to wait almost 2 hours total including the waiting room. He then didn't even examine me just had me walk. No MRI- he said wait a few months it will probably heal. I had to practically beg to get a brace-didnt get it that appointment so called and kept getting the run around. 3 mon... later (2 hour wait) got the MRI- torn meniscus, mod effusion and cartilage damage and he never called w/results. I had to p
Had to wait 1.5 hours before being seen. I went to see him about hip pain. I don't need hip replacement which is what he does but referred me to another doctor in his practice. So I guess I will go see that doctor.
