I have been a patient of Dr. Flaherty for over 5 years after having a complete hysterectomy in March of 2017. I feel fortunate that he was my surgeon and continues to monitor my health and well being. Dr. Flaherty never brings in a laptop or uses his time with me for note taking or record keeping. Hi stead, we have a thorough conversation about my overall health and any of my specific concerns. He always responds with expertise and compassion.
He is gentle, kind, talks to you about options and definitely lets you know he cares about you and your well being.
Dr. James Flaherty is a fabulous surgeon and gynecologist. His bedside manner is perfection - professional yet friendly with a sense of humor. He takes time to listen to you and explains things carefully and thoroughly. Due to some spotting, I had to have a D&C. I also opted to get a large but simple cyst near my ovary removed at the same time. Naturally I was nervous when I went in for the outpatient procedures. Made me feel at ease and explained everything so that I understood the next step. Mild manner and very efficient. Would recommend.
Dr. flaherty failed to diagnosis and treat an infection that resulted from an out-ot laproscopic procedure. His error in the surgery and failure for proper follow up as well as inability to properly diagnose the infection resulted in nearly a year of hospitalizations and subsequent 4 surgeries.
This Dr made an error during surgery an out- pt that resulted in a nearly fatal infection and a year's worth of antibiotics as well as an additional 3 surgeries thankfully done by another surgeon. While hospitalized on 2 occasions he consulted without consent which resulted in a premature discharge from the hospital and a re admission within 3 days. Beware and be firewarned. My family finally had to block him from participating in the care during the third hospitalization. He is not good at all
I had originally signed up for a woman in the practice, but the day that I went she was not there so I met Dr Flaherty. He makes you feel at ease, secure and comfortable. He generally cares about his patients and seems to have their best interest in mind. I would recommend him and his team to anyone that is in need or unsure of whom to use.
