The guy is a quack. He is incredibly deceitful and a liar. Avoid him like the plague and find a real pain specialist.
“Everyone is addicted. Pain is in your head.” This person is despicable. If you have acute CRPS & Dystonia, he will laugh at you in your face and require you to commit to a drug treatment facility - the one he is in charge of. I’m off all of my medications. Got off them myself just to prove him wrong. Twice! He still believes pain is only psychological even when crushed in an MVA. Told me to “take it like a man”. I recorded him saying this to me. Dr. Lai spent ALOT of time with me. His wife actually prepared me for the lecture he was going to give me. I suffer from back pain after a lumbar fusion. I have been in pain for many years. He told me that the pain med I had been on for years was not good for me. My wife insisted I listen and follow his instructions. Now I am no longer "chained" to my medication and my daughter trusts me to watch my grandson. He's a good doctor.
