Dr Rector did 2 hip resurfacing surgeries on me in Jan and Mar or 2009. Severe heterotopic ossification set in. He had absolutely zero recommendations or followup on my condition and pretty much washed his hands of my care. I have seen others in the same situation. Just know, that if things go well, he is all smiles. When there are problems or issues, you will be on your own and it's a frightening place to be when your surgeon refuses support and help.
Dr. Rector replaced my right hip. I was able to walk without support the night of the surgery. The next day I walked out of the hospital and went to work. Two days later I started driving. Four days post-op I flew my airplane and went on a 4-mile hike without any support. I only needed to use regular Tylenol for about 8 days to control the minor pain. Now, three months later, I am completely pain free, have no limp and am rock climbing again. This guy is the greatest surgeon ever!
Dr. Rector has been wonderful to me. He has helped me through a broken hip and a pretty bad knee. I could not ask for a better surgeon, and even his bedside manner with me at his office and hospital stays, has been excellent. I would very highly recommend Dr. Rector.
