I took my son in to see him and mentioned that Ehler's Danlos runs in the family. As it is a genetic mutation of the chromosome that produces collagen I thought perhaps it could be pertinent. I have never seen such a foul attitude in a physician in my life and that's really saying something. He mocked me for being disabled. I know he’s retired already, but I had to leave a review for him to try and get his rating a bit higher. He took a chance on me when I was high risk and many other doctors refused to help. He performed a back surgery that gave me my life back. Without his expertise and care I’d probably be in the same hopeless and helpless state.

I had multiple surgeries with Dr. Byrd, before finding a physician that truly cares about his patients. I have a degenerative disease in my spine. When I asked Dr. Byrd what it would be like when I was 60(I was 40 at the time), his response was 'hopefully you will be dead by then'. Dr. Byrd is more concerned about his patents, than he is his patients.
