I originally had a walk-in clinic doctor examine my ingrown toenail and was told to wait a week or so for it to grow more. I went back 10 days later as it was worse and same Doctor advised he would do an avulsion of the nail and it would likely be a two week recovery. I couldn’t do that as I had a ski trip planned. I was his first client in the morning and he was late. I wanted to get into a podiatrist to get information on how to correct my bunionette. Instead he told me so many analogy stories, and have me unclear guidance. He said I could do some exercises that are easily found for bunions (large toe) online but focus on my pinky toe instead. He said that I could wear compression socks (no suggested pressure) if i wanted to. I asked what about toe spacers... Again he answered with "you could if you want". I’ve always had problems with ingrown toenails, and Dr. Palmer is the second podiatrist to preform nail surgery on me (he did my daughters too). My first procedure from years ago is shown in the picture on the left, and Dr. Palmer's work is shown on the right. The way each doctor bandaged my toe after the procedure is a fantastic way to gauge how skilled they were at the actual procedure. I guess I wasn't quite understanding why my foot issue kept coming back! Dr palmer found a way to explain the purpose of the foot treatment and how to care for my feet better.
