Absolutely do not buy a house from these people. They will slap the houses up in a couple of weeks with unskilled labor. They do not stand behind their product. I’m now dealing with an improperly installed shower were none of the joints were ever caulked. I’m having to have it ripped out and the walls taken down with mold abatement. The only response I get from DR Horton is that you’re one year warranty has expired. I would accept that if this was something that I could’ve detected. I am a local Realtor in the Asheville/Hendersonville Area. I have now helped 6 or 7 people purchase a DR Horton home in two different neighborhoods in the area, mostly Tap Root Farms. Honestly, we were concerned at first because of the negative reviews we read. But after talking things over with our agent, who heard from others that DRH had really cleaned up their act, we decided to pull the trigger. And my wife and I couldn't be more happy with the experience we've had with DRH and the builder on the project, Alex! My favorite part so far has been the "walk-through" process, where Alex has come in to fix things that weren't perfect. If I could give negative stars I would. RON KING is the head of HOA in our neighborhood. He is dismissive, unconcerned, does not return calls because he's not big enough to face the music, does not respond to issues taken to him, does NOTHING for our community, allows residents to disrespect their neighbors and not follow the rules of the HOA. It's unbelievable that he holds this position. RON KING IS TERRIBLE. Equally, Carrie McGraw is awful and unresponsive as well. Both need to find a job in which they actually perform th... read more
