First off I’d like to say “RIP Dr. Shankar. Dr. Shankar past away a couple months ago. He was a very good psychiatrist and had a knack for 100% accuracy in all his diagnoses. He helped me become a much better person today. In the years I had the pleasure of working with him it’s sad to know I’ll never see him again. It was very sudden and no one knew about it. He was someone who actually took time and listened to his patients and treated them like he would his friends. A+++ “KidGloves”
I see Dr. Shankar for Suboxone maintenance. My previous doctor of over 10 years abruptly closed his practice and the last thing I wanted to do was switch doctors. It's been a year since I started seeing Dr. Shankar and I'm very happy. He is respectful, easy to talk to, and has always been on time. Jocelyn, his assistant is very pleasant and accommodating.
I switched from another Psychiatrist from Vernon Hills who was charging me $ 500 for initial visit and $200 for follow up. Dr. Shankar charges half of it and I saved lot of money!
Horrible! Hes in it for the money. Overcharges you. Is expensive without insurance. Not worth it
Very caring - always willing to take a call if I need to speak to him personally. Very knowledgeable on many different kinds of treatment options. Highly recommend him to someone looking for an experienced MD.
Dr. Shankar has been more then helpful. Always makes time for extra phone calls on the weekends , takes the time to listen. I would recommend Dr Shankar to anyone in need of psychiatric help.
I've been going to see Dr. Shankar for about six months. He is very professional. He was the first doctor who took time and evaluated me and gave me the right diagnosis. I got the correct medication and feel so much better. I would highly recommend him.
I would recommend this doctor to everyone. Most doctors in the field of psychiatry don't know what they are doing or giving a misdiagnosis. Dr. Shankar successfully diagnosed me through his evaluation and has me on the right path. I trust him with my life, as he is the reason why things are better for me. His time spent with me is at a very high quality and doesn't rush appointments like other doctors. Dr. Shankar genuinely cares about his patients and is very punctual.
I went to his office yesterday and I was told to come in at 3 pm even though my appointment was at 3:30. I was told to wait in the lobby,and I waited and there was people that came in before me got in which was very unprofessional. The doctor Is horrible doesn't ask you the right questions, he wants to take you off the meds which he is not the doctor for that specialty. He was rude and not a good doctor I would never ever go back to his office and his wasn't professional.
