Dr? Lui was 45 min. late for my app I took time getting all my medical records and MRI reports before I drove 4hours 30 mins to Durham. She didn't look at my records at all . The only thing she seemed inestered in was my MRI she looked at it on the computer and said this computer is so old I can't see it clear enough to tell if you have bone spurs or bulging discs or not. The only time she touched me was to turn my neck left ,right,up,an down. That was my exam? She spent less than 20 mins with me. She told me I didn't need t... read more
Dr. Liu had apparently not reviewed my records. She looked at old reports I brought in a haphazard way while half listening to me. Gave me almost no eye contact. Her Examination was hit and miss and her write up later was boiler plate saying things that she did not do or ask about and some were wrong. She had no recommendations for physical therapy for my scoliosis - the reason for the consultation, nothing regarding approaches and no recommendations as to therapists or programs to try. She did give me a generic referral not... read more
I have been seeing Dr. Liu for many years now and cannot express enough gratitude for what she has done for me. I can only speak for myself when I say that she has taken my level of pain and need for immediate treatment very seriously. She has always treated me with kindness and compassion and has expedited my treatment procedures to meet my needs as they arise. I whole heartedly respect this physician as someone who has my very best interest at heart. Dr. Liu has performed several cervical, epidural cortisone injections on ... read more
I had my ESI today. I felt everything and was screaming in pain. It is now 1100pm I am at an overdose level for all my meds and am still at a pain level 7. I was severly anxious at the appointment because no one tried preparing me for the appointment before hand. I cannot sleep and I cannot get comfortable for even 5min. I will never do this again. She showed no concern for my pain levels. 300mg gabapentin, 1500mg of roboxin, 4500mg Tylenol and 800mg ibuprofen and pain is at a constant 7 pulsing to a 10 at times.
I see Dr. Liu on a regular basis and have found her to be compassionate and caring. She explains what she is looking at in the MRI's, explains what her recommendations are and presents options. For the procedures she has done, she tells you step by step what is happening. While the procedure itself is unpleasant, that can't be helped, it's been unpleasant with every pain management Dr. I've seen. The after care is also good. They call you later in the day and the day following the procedures to make sure you're doing OK and ... read more
I had the exact same experience as the next comment down from me. If I didn't know better I would think that I wrote those exact comments. Dr. Liu did not display any compassion and left me with an extremely horrible first impression of her and her medical capabilities. I will not recommend her or return to see her after my first initial visit and consultation. Dr. Liu was more interested in getting to her next patient rather than showing any interest in my issues and problems. Dr. Liu does not demonstrate or exemplify the “... read more
The 4 rating is for the nurses, NOT Dr. Liu. I have seen many doctors and surgeons in the past 30 years and bar none, Dr. Liu is the absolute worst I have ever had the misfortune of seeing. Frankly, I don't know how she is in the Duke network. She spent almost no time at all with me, yet suggested a treatment "plan" without ever seeing my MRI or XRay results. None of my questions were answered fully and in some cases not at all. It was clear she just wanted to get me in and out of her office with the least possible amount of... read more
I had to wait in the exam room for half an hour before Dr. Liu was able to see me. When she did, however, she was very personable, knowledgeable and easily ascertained the cause of my pain. Getting an accurate diagnosis is why I went to see her. I am also a physician, but was not able to make a specific diagnosis on my pain, but having it, I am now able to initiate appropriate therapy.
Charged $453 for a consultation visit. All I did was walk around, touch my toes and she looked at some of my records (I brought in). Will not reduce the consultation visit charge. She gave me fluoroscopy injections and they were very painful. They're not supposed to be if the Dr knows what they're doing. Told me she would like to refer me to a specialist in Hip Replacements and then sends me on my way and won't tell me the specialist's name until I see her at the follow up visit (a month later). At my follow up visit, her sp... read more
