I am so fortunate to have found Dr. Gary Vandenberg -- he is truly a fabulous doctor and one I highly recommend! (I myself have worked in healthcare x 20 years, so having worked a wide variety of M.D.'s over the years, I know a great one when I find one!). I had excellent service. The front desk friendly and competent. I had arrived late (30 mins. to be exact)and was still seen and treated well. I have to disagree with the bad reviews. The card on file I used my HEALTH SPENDING CARD and now in modern times even hotels ask for a card on file for incidentals. Some people don't understand business and find ways to criticize a business as if they are experts. I left this office feeling great about it and did not find any negative remarks. I was a high risk pregnancy...multiple fibroid tumors. Dr Vandenberg was the only doctor I spoke with that was confident enough to take me on as a patient and assured me we could make it to full term (less one week) and was able to deliver my son via c-section. He removed the 7 fibroids and 1 cyst without any complications. I was back in business in a weeks time. He was kind, caring and compassionate. So grateful I found him!
I was sent back home by the doctor receptionist from my initial appointment because they wanted to have $50 cash/check and a credit card on file besides my insurance (Blue Shield PPO, which fully covers the majority of services). I was shocked: never heard or seen any doctor's offices, especially in UCSD area that could be so interested in finances, right at the first meeting:)) I did found some cash, even though that was ridiculous, and I gave them my decent American Express, which I use for all my business expenses.
