I asked about increasing my dose of antidepressant because of my low mood. He said that increasing my dose of antidepressant would decrease my mood. I told him that for me, it doesn’t. He said, well, that’s how it worked at Case (where he went to med school 30 years ago). He did not let me ask questions or finish my answers. For example, he wouldn’t let me finish telling him my medications. He would again interrupt me mid-sentence to ask the next question.
Like all of the other reviewers have stated this man displays manifestations of a clinical narcissist who needs treatment from a psychiatrist as soon as possible. He is arrogant at best and actually stated to me that he could never be reached after hours for any reason, unless I were naked in public! I was stunned beyond disbelief that such a terrible person was even given a medical degree! He is an example of a psychiatrist who should seek his own treatment before ever considering offering any nonsensical and dangerous advi... read more
Awful. I’m so glad he’s gone. Seen him for a few years bc there were no other doctors. He asked the same questions. How doesn’t my family feel about my diagnosis, belittled me that I’m an unwed mother each time, and asked when I plan to get married and if I’ll have more children. No questions related to my diagnosis to help or prevent it. Just a horrible doctor. I’m so happy he is gone.
I unfortunately had an evaluation with this doctor yesterday I will not be seeing him again he was horrible . He doesn’t deserve any stars . He made me worse then when I went in . He triggered every mental illness I have it was so upsetting . He definitely should not be practicing I called my insurance yesterday to also complain and find a new one to see .. just an awful experience
I got a psych eval with this guy and it gave me no faith in Ephrata Philhaven. I was almost tempted to walk out halfway through. He rushed me through canned questions, had me memorize silly phrases and treated me with absolutely no empathy. He perscribed me lexapro and I'm only taking it for the moment because I know it worked well with my gf. I'm surprised he's the only psych working this office, I have to go to Lancaster to get a 2nd opinion now. I also told my gf to stay away from there.
Terrible, he should not be allowed to practice medicine, all bad reviews.. I saw him once, he was rude, and wanted to change my meds too fast, which the next doctor I saw said was extremely dangerous.. AVOID at all costs...
Inarticulate, Spent most of my time with him listening to him discuss himself and psychiatry, rather than my experiences and mood. There were moments where I was unclear what he was even talking about and why. He told me he would do the asking and I am to answer but not say anything additional that he didn’t ask for. My questions were ignored. He didn’t discuss my options with me or talk about potential alternative medications. Very poor ‘bedside manner’.
I wish it were possible to give 0 stars because that's what Dr. DeGuzman deserves. This was without a doubt the worst experience I've ever had in a "doctors" office (I use that term loosely here). Dr. DeGuzman was not only judgmental & passive aggressive, but he lacked empathy & understanding - two major components in his line of work. To think he spends his days treating the mental health of others is scary. Dr. DeGuzman is the perfect example of everything you DON'T want in a psychiatrist.
Treated me like a hysterical woman who needed to be shut up with drugs. Put me on Welbutrin even though it treats depression while possibly increasing anxiety. I don't have depression. I have anxiety. Three doses is all it took to have me crying at my desk at work and spending an entire day fighting off suicidal thoughts and a strong desire to cut myself.
Dr. Franklin D. Deguzman, MD has a 1.2 star rating with 18 reviews.
