I’ve been seeing Dr. Gawlik for 14+ years for both of my kids. She has a knowledge intuition above others in this neighborhood. I’m so thankful she is still here! She has been spot-on with multiple complicated issues and especially with my younger kid - from Day 1 - whom has very hard-to-diagnose issues, in which specialists have not been able to pinpoint. Waited an hour before being seen by the doctor with our 2 week old baby. When she finally came into the room she was very judgmental that we did a home birth. She repeatedly mentioned that her daughter just had a baby and she never would have let her do that. She asked me how long my labor was and I told her and she said that’s not possible and that I was only in labor from the time my water broke to the baby being born. My baby was seen by Dr Ewa Pawlik who I was referred to but I was very disappointed. She did a stool sample for my baby and stated it was positive for blood in the stool. I am so happy I took a picture of the stool sample and showed it to 5 other Doctors I know and they all said it was actually negative. She also said feeding my 1 month old 2-3 ounces was too much for him. My two children see Dr Gawlik - she is truly a fantastic and child-focused healthcare expert. She might be the only doctor in NYC that provides her cellphone number and is personally available after hours if your child has a health issue. The office is incredibly courteous and caring. I never have an issue getting an appointment and they have a very human approach for this city - no phone trees, long waits, unclear explanations etc.
