The problem I found was that Kiehna isn’t respected by her team. For example, the anesthesiologist rolled their eyes when I repeated what Kiehna had told me and expressed “oh she tells everyone that and we keep telling her she’s wrong.” It seemed like every doctor we ran into had some disdain for her. That’s a bit worrisome.
Words can’t fully express how grateful I am for Dr. Kiehna. She was one of the first doctors who truly listened to me as a mother. I had a deep feeling that something wasn’t right with my daughter, and while others brushed off my concerns, Dr. Kiehna took the time to hear me out not just as a patient’s parent, but as someone who knew their child better than anyone. First meeting with Dr. Kiehna was terrific. She took ample time to meet with us and to educate us on our child’s condition. She had amazing “bedside manner” and answered every question that came to mind, including questions that we had not thought of, but were pertinent to our child’s health. She put our child and us at ease during a stressful situation. We will absolutely be working with her and her staff again.
Dr. Kiehna is a true MIRACLE MAKER. In 2019, my 17 year old son was diagnosed with a lemon sized glioblastoma brain tumor that took over his entire dominant frontal lobe. Dr. Kiehna treated our whole family with such grace, dignity, compassion, and expertise! She calmed my son's nerves, talked his friends through his diagnosis and patiently answered their questions, and performed a miraculous full resection during surgery.
