My mom went to her for a few years. She never did much for her except throw her a few prescriptions. My mom is now going to a new neurologist and he has done more for her in one visit than this doctor did for her in years.
I saw Dr Shields for testing. She was very thorough, answered my questions, and was extremely pleasant. I would absolutely recommend her.
Dr Shields is caring, takes the time to listen, and knows her stuff. She really helped me with my pain.
Dr. Shields cares about her patients and takes a lot of time to listen to them. She always does what she thinks is best for them, not the quickest or easiest option. She will do whatever it takes to help her patients. I would trust my family in her care.
Wouldn’t let her treat my dog. Doesn’t do an exam and doesn’t read chart. She shouldn’t have a medical license.
Very friendly, answered all my questions and gave me advice to help my problem. She also scheduled tests to evaluate my problem.
Brisk, does not read your chart or have any clue of medical history. She prescribed medications I could not take on 2 occasions. This is when I stopped seeing her. She brushes off concerns and grins and smiles and is in and out in 5 minutes.
She does not listen to you, she does not do any test. I was trying to tell her what was happening to me she played off like I didnt know what I was talking about. I worked in a doctors office 11 years and I've also had EMT training in the past. I was worried about a stroke, MS, anurisium, or something else but she said not at my age... My sister died of MS at 44. Stroke and everything else runs in my family and I've also have cancer for a third time.
I was referred to Dr. Sheld for bilateral foot drop. I was told it was a back injury. I was concerned that it was not and ask about MS, ALS, and a few other diseases. Her response was I'm 99% sure it's not ALS or MS. After 2 and a half months with this doctor I was finally sent to a university hospital and was diagnosed with ALS. Do not waste your time with her. I was only evaluated one time at the first visit and she did not seem concerned about it even though my symptoms became worse.
