I have been a patient of Dr. Bhuyan for over 20 years. At first, I wasn't sure if we were compatible, but after experiencing a crisis early on I knew that she was the right doctor for me. She has always been accessible to me, even returning calls while on vacation. Whenever I've had any problems with medications, they were taken care of in a timely manner. I've not always agreed with her assessment of my issues, but I ultimately have confidence in her ability as a psychiatrist.
The staff is ok and they have gotten me in with short notice. However, the reason I have had to get in several times with short notice is her writing the wrong prescription....soooo annoying when I get to the pharmacy and they have the wrong dosage of prescription because she wrote the script wrong or some other careless oversight. Also, I was just told the last time I went After I already saw her, that they were no longer taking my insurance so I had to pay the full amount. Find someone else.
She likes to talk down to you. On my first visit she kept looking at her watch saying "I normally don't stay this late". I counted 8 times in my 1 hr session. I've been without refills on the medications she put me on for 2 weeks now. The pharmacy and myself haven't been able to reach her office, it just rings until the answering machine picks up. Nobody EVER returns messages. I recommend finding a different Psychiatrist if you can. Now I'm stuck without a Psychiatrist and my medications.
I absolutely love my doctor! I understand some of the concerns people expressed, I felt the staff on the phone felt short and to the point but once I met everyone in person and really enjoy coming to the office. I never felt she was hard to understand. That could just be me. She has really helped me out to much and I owe her a lot.
Dr. Bhuyan was always prepared for my appointment and very thorough in her questioning.
I would not at all recommend dealing with Dr. Bhuyan's office. The secretary is exceptionally rude and mean and not at all a pleasure to deal with. A patient has to wonder...if that is how the staff treats patients, how does the doctor treat patients? I for one have no interest in investing the time and money to find out. Dr. Bhuyan, please re-structure your staff and have a more pleasant person taking phone calls. Especially with the field you specialize in.
I called the office on Tuesday, May 11,2016 to schedule an appointment with Doctor bhuyan. Right off the back the secretary was extremely rude to me. I shook it off and she progressively got worse. Mind you, I have worked in customer service before so I'm usually really good with people but this lady was just awful. I decided that if dr. Bhuyan was ANYTHING like her staff then I wouldn't feel comfortable expressing any kind of feelings to her. I hung up and called someone else.
My family and I have nothing against people with accents. However, it was very hard to understand Dr. Bhuyan, and many times we struggled to understand what she was trying to say. Came to her with concerns over being tested for something, and was told I didn't look like I had it.
I called 10 times over 10 days to schedule an appointment. Phone always went to voicemail and not all of my calls were returned. Moving on to another doctor since I can't seem to schedule an appointment after a week of trying.
