I've had over 40 years seeing different psychiatrists and she is one of the best. Her knowledge of the meds is extensive and she works along with the patient for best results. Also very honest and always makes sure her research and information is accurate.
If I could leave a negative star, I would. I saw Dr. Burns in 2020 and I believe we only had 2 or 3 sessions; she treated me like I was drug-seeking. When I told her about how my therapist (who I have been seeing for YEARS and YEARS) had suggested an on-the-spot medication for my panic attacks (they were happening almost every day at this point, and I had previously been prescribed a low dose of Ativan, which helped tremendously), she belittled him, asking me “does he have a PhD? We've found reliable, thoughtful, evidence-based treatment with Dr. Burns. She's taken the time to get to know our patient and our family, and approach each of us with compassion and honesty. We've also found her schedule and virtual practice to work well for us, providing assurance that we'll be able to get services when needed, which has not always been the case with past providers. With her in our corner, I feel confident that we are moving in a positive direction and will be able to adapt if our needs change.
I have been with Dr. Burns for 14 years. She has helped me more than I will ever be able to thank her for. Awesome doctor!
