I was diagnosed with TN in June of 2025 and was able to get the extreme pain under control later that month after being prescribed carbamazepine. I was referred to UCSF by my neurologist who related that the people at UCSF were some of the best. On 10/28/2025, Dr. Chang and his team performed MVD surgery on me at UCSF. The care I received was top notch, and I have been pain free for a month. I stopped taking Carbamazepine a week after surgery and am hopeful I won’t need to take it again.
