I embrace conservative treatments when appropriate, and surgery when these other options have failed. And I do not hesitate to help arrange appropriate referral for problems which may be out of my scope of practice. I was so glad to get Dr. Belongie to do both my knee replacements! I live outside Savannah, GA and had to travel there for Federal Injury. He is a fantastic doctor and surgeon! I love his no nonsense and he cares about his patients!
Dr. Belongie and his staff are EXCELLENT. I have an issue with my thumb about a year ago. He was kind, attentive and funny. He took care of my problem right away. He explained the procedure and answered any and all my questions. Good vibes between him and his staff too.

I was impressed that this orthopedist had a degree in engineering as well so I feel very confident that he understands the mechanics of the body. He is not a cutter - he explores non-surgical options and is straightforward about what to expect in the long run. I appreciate how he explained how damage to one part of my leg could lead to future issues with hip and other joints if not addressed. I have recommended him to other folks who had knee or shoulder issues. He’s a good find!
Dr Belongie is so kind and calming everytime I see him. Dr. repaired patella fracture, quite serious, and I haven"t been a good patient..but he and his staff always greet me with sincere kindness and spend as much time as needed heeding my concerns. Thank you all so very much!
From the first time meeting with Dr. Belongie, my husband and I felt confident in what he was saying. He has a very professional demeanor and was very direct and to the point with us. He did not just recommend surgery first for my husband's rotator cuff issue but wanted to look at the MRI and said that we could try physical therapy first if that was indicated. Want a physician who understands exactly what’s happening with your body? Dr Belongie took the time to explain why I was having hip pain and what options were available to me. He was down to earth and spoke to me in layman’s terms so I could better understand my medical issue. His staff was friendly, energetic and very helpful.
