Did not return several calls to go over test results. I f fact never returned ANY call about anything. Would not approve a prescription he prescribed when the pharmacy needed it to process.
Went to him for bladder infection, put me on two meds.. three days later I was having allergic reaction to Med called and was told to take anyway by his nurse.. she was “put out” with me for bothering her and said the doctor will never call you back as he doesn’t need to. Went back in for camera into urethra while still having infection, and he couldn’t get camera it in, said I had scar tissue from previous surgery years ago, but kept trying to insert camera with no anesthetic, I was in pain and bleeding like crazy and he ke... read more
Wonderful personality. Too busy to catch a urinary infection. Support staff great. But direct access to Dr. D virtually impossible when you have a question. I doubt he will ever see these comments.
I recommend against seeing Dr. DeConcini. I had a strong adverse reaction to a medication he prescribed. I called his office to talk to him to get help. I was told he was in the office and would call me at the end of the workday. He didn't call me that day. He called me three days later and said, "I'm returning your call." By that time I'd discontinued the medication and had spoken to my primary care doctor.
Dr Deconcini is a good doctor and very smart. The problem is that he and his office are over-flowing with patients, so the waits are on average 40minutes and then the amount of time the doctor spends with you is ... 5 -7minutes!!! It's impossible not to feel rushed and as though, your issues aren't being taking seriously.
With a family history of prostate cancer, I have been seeing Dr. Deconcini annually for about 20 years. Ten years ago although my PSA was still below 3, it had spiked since my previous visit. Dr D performed a biopsy and discovered cancer at a very early stage. He followed up before and after treatment and I have been cancer free since. He is caring, low key, attentive, and professional. I have recommended several friends and co-workers to his practice.
Worst medical experience of my life. Went to see this Dr post a spinal surgery because I was in retention. It was painful and compounded by the fact that I was in a neck brace due to the spinal procedure. Dr. Deconcini met me briefly, showed zero compassion for my plight, did a quick rectal exam, and made a comment about my tan line, which made my very uncomfortable, and then pawned me off to his asst, who has no formal training.
