Re: upcoming knee surgery. So far, great facility great people. Always a provided with tons of information and the people (including Dr./Surgeon) take time and are accessible without that subtle (or not so) power imposition one can experience in other clinical settings.
In 2016 I had a poorly done revision in my home town. A year later I had my first appointment with Dr. Ward. He encouraged me to be conservative, for many reasons, and wait for the second revision . Waiting would allow for less trauma to my tibia. Though its been a hard road, it has made for a better outcome. I am thankful for his encouragement during these last years. I flew down to SF to have a consult with Dr Derek Ward at the urging of Dr. Robert Mayle. I am sooo glad I did. Dr. Ward and his med student Emma took time to gather information from me to get a complete picture of my knee journey leading to my meeting with them. Dr. Ward was very thorough in his review of my condition. He Clearly explained possible risks of the knee surgery and possible outcomes.
