I have been a patient of Dr. Mercer's for just over 4 and a half years. I came to her as a trauma patient with a badly mangled hand. She saved 2 of my fingers and my hand initially but one finger ended up becoming necrotic and having to have three-quarters of it amputated. She has always been kind, considerate, empathetic, and ready to answer any question I have spending however much time is needed. 1995 brain surgery UPMC / Montefiore to relieve adult-onset hydrocephalus. Recovered completely. Had been suffering terrible headaches and worsening physical issues for 2 years prior. Dr. Yonas was wonderful and I am grateful to him, Dr. Subach and Dr. O'Rourke every day of my life.
She performed a fusion of my left hand in 2023 and is an excellent surgeon and follow up was excellent! I would recommend her to all my family and friends.
As a patient transporter I'm shocked at how long patients have to wait to see the Dr. 2 hrs on average then they make an appt the same day for down the road for rehab. During cold weather they had 3 people in wheelchairs outside because there wasn't any room inside. Going to pick up my patient at least 10+ people were waiting in their cars. Her staff is very friendly, but I didn't know that you don't get in to see the Dr for 2 to 3 hours after your appointment time. Very disappointing. I had to cancel.
I would recommend Dr. Mercer but I am flabbergasted at the treatment I received on my visit 10/11/21. Apparently Mercer and her team are poor at time management. Incompetent at dealing with customers or patients whose time is just as valuable as theirs! I was initially pleased with the results but now I am left guessing as to how competent this doctor really is.
He saved my life. And had the BEST bedside manner of any surgeon I've ever dealt with. Enough said.
I saw Dr. Mercer for the first time today. I thought she and her staff were friendly, courteous and very professional. She spent whatever time I needed and answered all my questions. I highly recommend her.
Fabulous bedside manner. She is very kind, caring and attentive. I saw a hematologist previously who was not well versed with my issue. Dr. Quintana, however, was familiar and comfortable treating me. I am so pleased. Highly recommend her.
