Compound fracture broken ankle, emergency surgery. Was prohibited from using a scooter and used a walker and hopping. That wrecked my knee on my "good" leg. Eventually first surgery deemed unsuccessful and called for a second surgery. Sought second opinion. Second opinion agreed another surgery required as screws used in first surgery were too short. I found Dr. Seligson to be arrogant and condescending and stuck in practices long ago outdated.
I was in an accident and hurt my ankle I was sedentary for nearly a year and gained a bit of weight during this time all he was concerned with was me losing weight. My appointments consisted of him basically telling me yeah you hurt your ankle and you’re fat. I will continue to reschedule my appointments with him until he dies. If I never see him again it will be far too soon.

Visited Dr. Seligson as a 25 yr old after an ankle fracture repair. I went from being active and living a pain free life to being unable to walk to the bathroom. I went to Dr.Seligson to get some help and answers on what was going on. Dr.Seligson gave me no answers as to what was actually happening to me and told me all he could do was remove my current hardware to prep me for future surgeries, like an ankle replacement. He told me overall, the pain would not go away. I reasonably start crying, my life has just been flipped ... read more
Absolutely the worst of the worst. He may have skills in the OR, but he is absolutely awful in after care in the office and has zero compassion. Got stuck with him as trauma patient. He absolutely refused to answer simple questions about my treatment plan" I don't have time for question and answer session" spends less than 1 minute with you, his residents are terrified of him and will not ask him questions for you. The floor nurses were afraid of him 30 years ago, how long is he going to be allowed to treat staff and patient... read more
41 years ago I was in a car accident in Burlington Vermont. That left me with a Compound fracture to the Tabula and fibula and a serious back injury. Dr. Seligson and his team of residence put my leg back together and gave me an external fixation. My case was in a New England Medical Journal. At times you need to over look his bedside manner. When I was in the hospital I would cover my head every time he came in accompanied by his Residences . This behavior earned me the nickname Legs .Just remember he can fix it if it’s bro... read more
MY HUSBAND WAS SHOT IN THE LEG/KNEE WAS BLOWN TO PIECES, ALTHOUGH SELIGSON REBUILT HIS KNEE THE AFTER CARE WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR RECOVERY HAS BEEN GROSSLY NEGLECTED. SELIGSON ADVISED MY HUSBAND PT TO GET HIM WALKING AGAIN WOULD BE "EXCRUCIATING" BUT REFUSES TO CORRECT THE MEDICINES HE HAS ADMITTED HE NEEDS THAT HAVE BEEN CONSTANTLY INCORRECTLY WRITTEN BY HIS RESIDENTS AND NOT BY HIM, HIS STAFF HAS BEEN ADVISED SEVERAL TIMES THAT CERTAIN INSURANCE CARRIERS WILL ONLY HONOR THE PRESCRIPTIONS IF THEY ARE WRITTEN BY HIM HIM... read more
Displayed genuine concern over condition. Offered a plan. Kind, patient, very thorough. Made you feel you were his only concern and patient. None better!! The staff was as wonderful as Dr Seligson.
Honestly, if you have a severe or non-standard orthopedic injury, there is no one in the area who you should go to. He probably trained every other surgeon who would touch it. Surgery for my severe injury was delayed 2 weeks after the orthopedic surgeon at Baptist couldn't decide how to address it. Dr. Seligson had an immediate grasp of the injury and needed procedure and fixed it. My results were nothing short of excellent.
My wife dislocated her ankle with 2 breaks above her ankle. Surgery was 2 weeks after injury. Was told it should have been that night. We just had several issues that added up. Example, went in for appt. about 10 weeks post op. Was told "you are ready for a walking brace. Great we thought, but, the wait for the appt. to get measure for brace was 3 and a half weeks away. Then, it took another 4 weeks for the brace to be made. Almost 8 week wait past when she was ready for brace. Stuff like that. Dr, seligson also told her don... read more
