Dr Heyer is amazing. I’m currently going through chemo treatments and he makes it incredible easy. His pleasant smile and great really help. He and his team of Drs are wonderful. They are very down to earth and will answer all my questions.
I was diagnosed with CLL in May and have been researching the best place to go. I was told INOVA. My appointment was with Dr. Heyer. I tried telling him about my neck and back pain and my increased fatigue. His exact quote, "everyone who has CLL blames there symptoms on the diagnosis" . I tried telling him this is how it all started in Nov. He wasn't listening, he said as you get older you get arthritis. Hence, his answer was two MRI with and without contrast, iron and B12 tested. Was treated for tonsil cancer by Dr. Heyer in early 2017. He was an outstanding doctor. I never felt rushed or that I was just another number to him. His knowledge and expertise was first rate (he immediately caught an early diagnostic error and had confirmed it was wrong even before I met him in person). He seems a little aloof in person but he is actually extremely observant just not apparent.
