Took the time to answer questions. Listened to all my concerns. I know a sincere and caring person when I meet one and this doctor is the “real thing”.
I have had numerous visits over the years - at one time his clinical knowledge and observational skills caught slow internal bleeding which was immediately treated with two units of blood at the nearby emergency room. His personable and professional listening skills are outstanding and impart a sense of caring for one's individuality.
Personally sabotaged my working treatment plan....I've had great doctors in the past, just not for the last 3 years. Great doctors include Dr David Inger, Dr Ben Herman, Dr Deck, Dr., John Kanwit, and Dr Schmitt.
I left this practice very dissatisfied in Sept 2018 after 2 years w/ Dr. Salko as my primary care doctor. When I was able to see Dr. Salko, I found him to be a compassionate, knowledgeable doctor. The staff at Topsham Family Medicine are incompetent. Dr. David Salko is VERY intelligent, VERY compassionate, VERY willing and eager to help his patients. He also is not afraid to admit if he is not certain about something and he doesn't rest until he finds answers. Also highly knowledgeable on EDS Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.
Dr. Salko is the best, I travel 2 1/2 hours to see him for that reason alone. He listens, he cares and he is the best Dr I have ever had.
All of our family is seen by Dr.Salko. he has been very helpful and has been wonderful. The hard part is to get the prescriptions refilled.
Dr Salko is the only Dr I have seen in ME that actually listens to ALL your symptoms and considers your feelings. He is excellent in obtaining the correct DX for his patients. He is ego free! His ability to balance what the patient is feeling and emotional state in order to attain relief and manage the big picture is priceless. Working with you he can get you on the road to good health. When HMOs, red tape from insurance companies hinder your sanity; he stands up for his patients. An amazing Dr.
I am an adult diabetic. In 2 years of seeing Dr. Salko, he never once checked my feet and continually discounted my claims of neuropathy symptoms and never addressed them. I have numerous health problems and he addressed a few and ignored the rest. Found a new doctor who cares about my complete health.
