Dr. Israel is not compassionate or thorough at all! My son came in for a follow up visit pertaining to a hip injury that he received while playing football. Dr. Israel took a look at my son asked him to walk towards him and precedes to say oh his not ready for football just yet, ok I’m done with you all. I asked if I could at least get a referral for physical therapy and he states oh yea I’ll have someone contact you by the end of the week. Needless to say I haven’t heard anything. I would highly recommend Dr. Israel to any parent of a healthy, run of the mill child. However, if your child is disabled or has special needs, I would keep searching. He has refused to sign off on my sister getting a new wheelchair, even though she has severely outgrown the one she has had for the past 5 years. He has also refused to write a new script for her special formula, forcing her to be fed protein shakes for 2 weeks, and also refused to write her a new script for her special diapers. Didnt listen to me concerns about my baby and the next morning we ended up at Cardinal Glennon having emergence surgery.
We have been seeing Dr.Isreal since my oldest was born, and she will be 8 in August. He is the BEST! The nicest doctor who will explain everything to you without you having to ask any questions. I will NEVER take my girls to anyone else. We followed him from Fairfield and will follow him wherever he goes, if he were to leave Mt.Vernon!!
