Dr. Helsel is sensible and thorough. He listens, is compassionate, and thoroughly professional. I would recommend him to my family.
I saw Dr. Helsel twice. During my appointments, he scolded me for decisions my previous doctor made, talked over me while I tried to answer his questions, condescended to me when I asked my own questions, and generally did not seem to be at all interested in truly helping me. I felt so frustrated and belittled that I began to cry a little at which point he told me to stop fussing. This is not a man who should care for anyone who is vulnerable or feeling vulnerable, as many people struggling with mental health are.
