Dr. Lara-Castro chose to not take my word about my own health issues that I’ve had my entire life. She told me I was not having a sickle cell episode because of my lab results but I was just having leftover pain from my sickle cell episode. I tried to tell her I was not having “leftover pain” but she wouldn’t listen and continued to tell me multiple times what bone infarctions were.
