Dr Nelson has been great for our daughter who has a severe genetic brain related condition. His office is very responsive on help with medications and have helped us a couple times in getting medicine quickly when we needed it. He was also quick and helpful in getting our tests and images done for the initial diagnosis. We’ve never felt disrespected or not validated as other reviews have said. He was very informative and he told us exactly what was going on with our 4 month old baby. He wasn’t ignorant and he listened to our concerns.
BEWARE! Dr. Nelson was curt, rude and gave us an incredibly sexist explanation for my teenage daughters persistent headaches and other neurological deficits after suffering a traumatic brain injury. It felt like he was simply reciting a well rehersed script in which he attributed all her headache and neurological complaints to being a "teenage girl" who needed to manage her anxiety better, drink water and wait until she turns 18, at which point she would somehow magically be better. Dr Nelson is awesome and makes a really sucky situation more comfortable. He listens and treats his patients with kindness and care. So grateful for all he’s done for my two boys with epilepsy.
For years our son has struggled with seizures. Not once has Dr Nelson validated our concerns or worked together with us as a team. He just treats patients like they are his to do with whatever he chooses. As a doctor myself, I would not ever recommend this kind of doctor patient relationship.
