Dr. Polowy is a wonderful,caring and very knowledgeable Doctor. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Polowy is THE BEST doc I've ever had. My cancer was very large and advanced by the time they figured it out and I landed in the care of Dr. P. He started a very aggressive treatment and from the beginning he made it clear that he was in for the cure. I was so sick in the very beginning that he gave me his personal cell number and told me to call him if I needed anything, what doctor does that??? After moving to Arizona I was devestated to leave my old oncologist behind. Then I met Dr. Polowy and I am confident I am in even better hands now than I was before. He is very intelligent and lights up the room with his energy. Even my husband, who doesn't like anyway, said he was a people person and knew what he was doing. Couldn't be more happy with my switch.
Be very careful and do not trust this doctor, he basically stood by and did nothing to help my mother. He treated her lymphoma too aggressively, did not consult her other specialist even one time for another health situation she was having (despite our requests to do so) and at one point during one of our visits he was reading and reviewing the wrong patient's test results in regards to my mother-the ultimate error! Dr Polowy goes above and beyond. He is one of the most genuine, caring and compassionate Drs I have ever met, Unfortuntely when Ironwood took over Desert Oncology they no loner took my insurance and I was dumped by the office staff like a piece of trash- after 2 years of treatment they basically told me "you're on your own" without so much as a referral to another Oncologist or even a "sorry to see you go". I din't even get to say goodbye to my beloved Dr of 2 years. Again . . . it's all about money.
Wait for first visit was 3.5 hours. Wait for second visit was 2 hours. Exams both times about 3 minutes. (This is the same office as my original oncologist, who retired last year. Longest wait for him was 45 minutes because of an emergency.)
When my insurance offererd him less money he right away sent me to a different Dr now I'm stuck in limbo on who is going to be my new Dr.
Dr Polowy is knowledgeable, compassionate, kind and thorough, Unfortuntely the office is extremely busy and overbooked. We have waited anywhere from 20-90 minutes for an appt. He is worth the wait but it is still very frustrating.
One of the most compassionate and genuine MDs I have ever encountered. Being diagnosed with Cancer turns your life upside down but Dr Polowy's positive attitude and holistic approach made me feel at peace. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a way of making you feel like he is your only patient.
