Dr. McIlwain has always looked for the best treatment options including non-medical help for my husband’s TBI. He is kind and patient with explanations, and quick to respond to requests for help.
I miss Dr. M. When our insurance changes I hope to be his patient again. He is knowledgeable, a good communicator and his staff is a professional team.
Patients beware do not go to this doctor he is a waste of time he immediately seen I have a laundry list of medical issues and refused me care
Dr. Mcllwain always acted like I was inconveniencing him by coming in. He is always friendly but acts like he is better than you. I went to him for 3 years and this fact never changed. He blew off my concerns every time I went to see him and doesn’t listen.
When my husband had a head injury, Dr. McIlwain helped him to get scheduled with both regular specialists but also with holistic practitioners, as well as advising on diet and exercise plans to maximize his treatment. He truly cares about his patients and puts their needs first. I have recommended friends to his practice.
I really miss Dr. McIlwain. My insurance changed so i could no longer go to Presbyterian doctors. I found Dr. McIlwain very thorough. I trusted him. If i could afford to break from company insurance. I would go back to Dr. McIlwain in a heartbeat.. Im unimpressed with Lovelace.
If you’re looking for a true DO he is not comfortable doing manipulates , he is in compassionate and condescending !! Find somelse if you want true care !!
I was his patient for 5 years. He was always aloof and patronizing. I figured since I only saw him yearly, I could put up with his bad attitude. If I had any health problems I went to a specialist. On my last/final yearly visit I expressed concern about a health matter. He commented: "Gee, two women told me the same thing this morning." He said it with a smirk. No follow up question or acknowledgement of my concern. I never went back after he showed absolutely no concern about my problem.
Dr McIlwain is very knowledgeable and personable. He explains things in a clear manner that I can understand. His treatments have always worked well for me.
