If I could give zero stars I would. I was diagnosed with chrons at 12 years old and had the best doctor at that time. I relocated to CT and found Dr Adelmann. Not only did this man not listen to a single word I said he used his power to tell me I was wrong about every single symptom I was going through. He had me on pills that would cause severe joint pains that would lead to constant hospitalization. I went to Adelmann because staff told me he was open to non sedation colonoscopy. I booked appointment, went. When I met with him he told me he would not do that. His reasoning was totally fine but I wish staff would have told me this instead of wasting 2 months of my time. He also told me my prep would be the most horrible torture and I would be cursing to the gods because he wanted to be real with me, which I appreciated but my prep was a breeze and gentle. If you are a young adult, please reconsider your GI provider. I saw Dr. Adelmann at 18 years old with a very convincing case of IBD. He refused to perform a colonoscopy because I was "too young". He then proceeded to perform an endoscopy which was not indicated based on my symptoms. Seek out a provider who will listen to you and do what is in your best interest.
