I was assigned to Dr. Guice after Dr. McCrary passed away. The difference between Dr. Guice and Dr. McCrary is profound. Dr. McCrary practices the "art" of medicine and truly cares for his patients. In doing so he always correctly diagnosed me and made me well. He prayed for me each time I saw him. Dr. Guice is in and out and gruff and grumpy. I felt so uncomfortable seeing him and would not go back. Dr. Guice acts like he does not like being a doctor.
Dr. Guide walked in, went to computer, read what nurse wrote and with his back still turned to me, made a diagnosis. Then looked in my ears, nose and throat for a total of 30 secs, max. And then said I needed a hearing test. I walked out. Will not go back. He was rude and rough in his exam.
I have always tried my best to get the best outcomes for my patients without doing unnecessary and expensive testing or treatment. While I realize that some people cannot be either improved to their satisfaction or made happy I ALWAYS do the best I can and if there is one thing that you can count on it is that I will be completely honest with you. When I am on call I always ask for an immediate connection when someone calls. Just call and ask THEM rather than taking a false anonymous allegation
I personally would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. He is not caring and is very arrogant, crass and unkind In addition he does not seem concerned about patient welfare. If he is on call, he will not return calls. I find the other two doctors in the practice to be most kind, caring and friendly. I would frequent their office instead of this one. Dr. Childress and Dr. Colthorp are wonderful.
I have suffered with sinus complications for years. I have seen several ENT MDs but could never get lasting results until I starting seeing Dr. Guice. He has excellent bedside manner, very patient, willing to listen, shows compassion and knows how to get patients with sinus issues the best results. I am finally able to breathe and can complete an entire sentence without having nasal congestion and drainage for the first time in many years. I have my quality of life back thanks to Dr. Guice.
