Dr Bell has been instrumental in helping me to evaluate several young people when others were unresponsive. I have found her to be thoughtful, kind, warm and professional during the evaluation process, and her reports to be smart, well written and extremely useful over the long term. I have also found her to be very skilled at helping young people with anxiety feel comfortable during the process, which was so appreciated. I strongly recommend her if you need someone competent and effective who you trust to do a thorough job.
There are better professionals. Dr. Bell refused to evaluate my daughter for autism without an academic evaluation. We homeschool and do not use an IEP and therefore have no use for an academic eval. Moreover, it is not part of the DSM criteria for autism and therefore is not required for diagnostic purposes. So why does she require this extra eval? Who knows but I’ll say that it’s a quick $2000 out of pocket that insurance doesn’t cover. So she’s essentially refusing kids a diagnosis they desperately need over an evaluation... read more
