I saw Dr. Gibson for the first time today and he was a very nice man. He asked me questions and I asked him a couple. He explained the procedure I need, an ultrasound guided needle thyroid biopsy, and said we would discuss the results at the next appointment. I almost asked for another doctor because of some of the reviews I read, I am glad I didn't. He wont even be doing the biopsy, he scheduled me at the hospital where they will numb the site. I did not have any complaints about him.
Dr. Carl Gibson diagnosed my hyperparathyroidism after years of MANY other physicians missing the signs. He's actually addressed the cause of my chronic fatigue and depression by listening and then running the right tests. Dr. Gibson actually laughed when I told him I almost skipped coming to see him because he did not have five stars. He says he worries about doing the right thing and being honest with patients instead of seeking their approval. How is that not five stars?
He spends next to no time with his patients and obviously couldn't care less. I described my symptoms to him (I have an observed thyroid condition seen in multiple utrasounds) and he literally laughed in my face and implied I was making them up despite the fact that he told me on my first visit that if the size of my thyroid starting bothering me (which was the symptom) that I should come in and tell him. All in all he spent 6 minutes with me. He has never once asked me a question.
He is okay he knows what he is doing. He is not the best communicator when it comes to explaining what he is doing and why.
