I had two hip replacements two years apart. In both cases I was walking and driving in two weeks. No complications at all.

Dr. Matanky himself is great to work with and very straight forward. Some of his staff is great as well, but there are a few that seem to be less caring and do not understand all the workings of the practice. I just had scope surgery on my shoulder, everything went great and the staff was wonderful through the entire procedure. The bad part... my designated care taker did not perform so great and now I am waiting for a call back from the doctor's office to confirm what I can't remember.

Dr is excellent although his staff receptionist (scheduling) is very unfriendly, snotty, makes one feel unwelcomed. NOTE: DR IS EXCELLENT RECEPTIONIST STAFF: VERY UNFRIENDLY

I've been a patient of Dr. Matanky's for 17 years and I have always trusted his diagnosis and treatment plans. His office staff, on the other hand, have increasingly left much to be desired over the years. I made an appointment and updated my insurance info with the receptionist. 5 days later I show up for the appointment only to be told "oh, we're not contracted with THAT policy." Incredibly frustrating. There are other details that add to the frustration but I have limited character space.

went for broken collarbone. Was told to see orthopedic surgeon ASAP. I check healthgrades to see backgrounds & ratings. I called to make an appt. for Dr. Matanky. When I got to the exam room I met a girl that I thought was his nurse, IT WAS NOT She was a PA. I told her my appt. was with Dr. Matanky, I waited many days because he has 34 yrs. experience. He not here today. The receptionist did not say PA. She said he would look at my xray & call. He did NOT, she called & he agree with her.

My spouse recently was referred to this physician after her visit to the Casa Grande ER(fracture). She was seen in the Casa Grande hospital by Dr. Matanky personally and he stated that he wanted to see her and gave her an appointment to discuss surgery. Upon arrived for the appointment, the office staff was unprofessional, (called her stupid and crazy because they did not have an appointment in their system). If the doctor doesn't communicate to his staff, how is that on her? Terrible off staff.

Replacement Hip had to redone by others 6 days after original surgery. In Dr Matanky's favor he quickly said he did know why the new hip kept popping out, and referred me to a specialist, that very successfully changed out the hip.
