In July of 2023 my mother was diagnosed with colon cancer after never having any symptoms. We sought multiple opinions on what course of action to take but ultimately felt the best about using Dr. Parrent to conduct her immediate surgery at St. Josephs Hospital in Bryan. From the very first office visit he explained her situation in a way that was completely understandable to a non-medical professional and showed her visuals from a medical journal. Dr. Parrent performed hernia surgery on my 85 year old father and did a great job from start to finish. He was very patient and kind with my father, thoroughly explaining everything about the surgery and recovery. The procedure went smoothly and my father is very pleased with the results of the surgery. Therefore, from my experience with Dr. Parrent, he is a very personable doctor and an excellent surgeon.
As a nurse, I may be a bit more critical of which medical professionals I choose for my own care. Dr. Parrent is a rare find! He is kind, competent, skilled, smart, & gifted at his craft! I would like to thank Dr. Parrent for all he did for me when I needed surgery & for never disappointing the friends, family, & patients I have referred to him over the years. - BS
Horrible experience. I should have gone to Houston or Dallas to have a more experienced surgeon perform my hernia surgery. Infiltration of my IV during my procedure - my entire arm was swollen and immobile and Dr Parrent didn’t even notice or say anything to my husband about it in his surgery report. Extreme pain for weeks afterwards when he said it was going to be minimal. Go to a different dr!!! I had looked at tons or reviews beforehand ... but it was NOT the experience I had!
